Eyeliner Tattooing

Eyeliner Tattooing is the process of tattooing along the eyelid to mimic the look of shaded or classic eyeliner. Whilst black is the most common colour, I often incorporate browns to create more dimension and give a softer look, especially in lighter-skinned clients. Eyeliner is fully customisable and can range from being extremely subtle – just tattooing along the lash line, to more dramatic such as a smokey eye with a wing. As with all permanent makeup, your skin plays a large role in how we design your eyeliner, always opting for the best results long-term as we age. There are two distinct services that I offer:

Lash Enhancement Tattoo is a soft and delicate method of enhancing your top lash line –  This technique enhances your lashes and eyes, naturally defining your lashes. Lash enhancement will fade over time, to be softer in color but will not fade to disappear entirely. An optional add-on for this service is a small wing.

Classic Winged Eyeliner is a more traditional eyeliner tattoo. This can range from being more dramatic, including shading on the eyelid to create a smokey eye or a thicker line along the eyelid that you might typically create with a liquid gel liner. For a shaded eyeliner, the shading blends together when healed and the end result looks like a soft eyeshadow, creating depth and dimension. This service is customised to each individual for their desired result and eye shape.

Shaded eyeliner  will give you a subtle shaded pencil look that will accentuate and correct the natural shape of the eyes, and give the appearance of uplifted eyes. Different result can be achieved depending on client’s needs. This procedure can be tailored to create many desired effects. Effect lasts from 2.5 and up to 5 years.

Your appointment

At your first session we will discuss your desired colour, shape and size of lash line tattoo. Once we both agree on the shape, Alesia will then take your before photos. Alesia will then clean your eyelid and will apply numbing cream. The tattooing process can take up to 1 hour. Alesia will then run you through the aftercare instructions and take your after photos. This session is a total of 2 hours. Once your tattoo has completely healed 4 weeks later, you will come in for your second session. Eyeliner tattooing is a 2 step process. This session is where we see how well the pigment has held and we can slightly adjust colour and shape if needed.

Healing Guide

Some puffiness is normal for right after and the following couple of days. Unless one has extremely sensitive eyes and they experience more than the usual puffiness or redness, it shouldn’t affect normal day-to-day activities.

We recommend a week long dry heal. Clearly, our eyes are naturally wet but just refrain from soaking your eyes area in water (shower/ bath/ swimming), avoid saunas, wearing eye makeup, applying moisturizer, etc.

Repeat the same exact aftercare post second session.

Eyeliner tattooing generally last between 2-3 years however, traces of pigment may always remain in the skin. 12-24 month refreshers are recommended to maintain the colour and shape of your lip tattoo.

The pain level for lip tattooing varies between clients. Cosmetic tattooing can be a little uncomfortable for those who are more sensitive. We do use numbing cream. The majority of our clients have said the pain level is 2/10.

Eyeliner tattooing takes 2 sessions to complete. Please do not judge your healing journey to a friend’s as everyone heals differently. The amount of sessions needed will depend on the individual .
